Subscriptions

E-mail Print

sportdevelopment.org.ukWe are supported by subscriptions to the site; as a not for profit organisation our work and costs are covered by the value that subscribers assign to us in both narrative and financial contributions. We avoid advertising other than those things that are education, research or industry specific.

Membership of the site is by subscription, individual or institutional.

Individual subscriptions

Individual subscriptions are made by creating an account with us and there are a variety of donation levels, introductory or longer term; we provide a significant discount for student annual membership; have a professional membership level for colleagues from practice and industry and offer an educational tutor membership that afford distribution of material for educational purposes. To create an account please do so via the link at the left of this page or click here.

So what does membership mean; what do you get for subscribing?

1.       Well apart from supporting our efforts to bring quality information to your desktop for a small donation, you get access to our content; you can get most of it elsewhere but we have done the searching hard work and placed it in relational context.

2.       You also get access to our jobs feeds in sport.

3.       You get access to Open Journal content (Journals that don’t require a fee)

4.       You get links to websites that are dedicated to ‘sport and Physical  Activity’ content for more information worldwide

We are not for profit and so your subscription helps support our efforts!, thank you.

Our institutional subscription service is limited to educational organisations, schools, colleges of further education and Universities worldwide.

Our current UK institutional subscribers are;

Cardiff Metropolitan University
University of Derby
University of the Highlands & Islands
Leeds Trinity University College
Liverpool John Moores University
Loughborough College
Manchester Metropolitan University
University of St Mark and St John (Marjon)
Sheffield Hallam University
Staffordshire University

We provide a bespoke electronic link at an annual charge to the institution so that students and staff register to become individual members at no cost to the individual staff or student member; this membership for students lasts for two or three years and staff membership lasts for the lifetime of institutional subscription.

We enjoy the support of over 25 Universities worldwide; 7 FE colleges and a few schools who subscribe to us in this way availing their students of ‘free’ access to the website resources. We are able to set-up a free evaluation link (so a try before you buy) for librarians to share with academic colleagues; with no obligation. Please contact us to enquire about institutional subscriptions.

For both individual and institutional subscribers and indeed for copyright purposes it is important to recognise that our subscriptions do not represent a purchase of individual documents; since few belong to us; rather, membership is support for our keeping them and the technology that we employ to make connections between them in addition to the social capital that is afforded by connecting our membership together. All copyrights are recognised and we endeavour to provide clear academic references to original material.

Research and advertising

We are able to advertise opportunities for research, conferences and selected commercial material on the site and via email to our extensive academic; practitioner and student email database. We are VERY selective in what we agree to advertise and we charge for this service in most cases. Please contact us to discuss our advertising options.

All material viewed, downloaded or distributed; including any email or other contact is expressly intended for educational purposes only; all authors; publishers or other intellectual copyright owners are recognised and it is a condition of use of this website that each and all must be acknowledged in any work by subscribers and other users of this resource. For guidance on how to reference please see our APA guide to referencing.
